Gabriela Bonomo is originally from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. In 2002 she was awarded a state prize for "Renúncia", a short play she wrote and performed. Favorite roles feature Hamlet (Ophelia), A Midsummer Night's Dream (Helena), Suddenly, Last Summer (Catherine). Work in film and movies include three collaborations with Peter Azen and Illium Pictures. Her own short film "Severina" was at the Cannes Short Film Corner 2010. Gabriela has worked as assistant director, dramaturg and translator for "Two Roses for Richard III", a co-production between Cia. BufoMecânica and RSC. She has also performed in works by Brazilian visual artists Tunga, Jarbas Lopes and Ernesto Neto. She holds a B.A. in Performing Arts with a minor in Classics from PUC-Rio and an M.F.A. in Acting from the New School for Drama ('16). She enjoys working collaboratively on classics, contemporary and devised pieces, on screen and stage.
